Need for more doctors

Senirosi Leba, Sigatoka

As a concerned citizen of this nation, I strongly urge the Ministry of Health to employ more doctors in public hospitals if possible.

Waiting for hours to get treatment is not a definition of hospitals.

Many people risk waiting because they have no other choice, but to get treatment, even though it takes hours to wait. To witness how more than 30 patients waited for hours to see only one of two doctors for check-up and treatment was a disappointing experience.

Because of that incident, more than 10 patients had to leave because of a sudden unconscious patient who had been waiting longer than others.

Encouraging citizens for check-ups and treatment regularly with this kind of hospital manner will only cause more lives to be in danger.

Therefore, more doctors are needed who will motivate and encourage people about the true purpose of a hospital – “to get care, treatment and to live” periodically. In doing so, people will feel confident visiting often.

To the Ministry of Health, please do send more doctors to every hospital, as people of this nation look up to your honourable administration as their additional saviour

Dharmendra Kumar, Suva

Ro Teimumu Kepa standing for FijiFirst in the 2018 general election? Wouldn’t that be great!

No more internal bickering; rather a respected chief working with the robust FijiFirst Government.

This will remove the fears of the iTaukei people and will certainly move Fiji from a lot of racial tension.

Madam, make the right choice and PM, accept her with open arms for the progress of Fiji.

Together everyone achieves more

Lenora power

Gyan Prasad, Nasinu

With Lenora Qereqeretabua more popular in an opinion poll, I think it’s time Biman Prasad did the right thing and let the lady take the leadership of National Federation Party.

It would be great for female empowerment in Fiji and maybe NFP would have a chance of getting back into Parliament again. Lenora is definitely popular

Tracking device

Sukha Singh, Labasa

I am just wondering , in this day of advanced electronics, why no GPS tracking device was installed on the plane that was lost near the Delaikoro mountain of Vanua Levu?

Fiji 7s dream

Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Suva

I dreamt on Tuesday night that I was involved with the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team and that the boys won the Las Vegas 7s tournament and my job was to write up a report on their performance.

From the jubilation seen after winning in Hamilton, New Zealand, the Fijian 7s supporters have high hopes that our boys have found their mojo. With consistency, and strong Fijian support, our boys should win their second series title this weekend in the USA.

Is this why my dream came out positive, because all Fijian 7s fans have a positive outlook and expectation from our boys this week?

Sometimes what we dream turns out to be the very opposite.

Come to think of it, our boys were pressured after the Sydney 7s’ poor performance and they came into a do-or-die mode at Hamilton.

Now that all is forgiven and we are all feeling on top of the world, only time will tell if consistency is on our side.

I dreamt of a win and I hope that our boys will play with a winning mindset, mastering the basics and entertaining the crowd with the dazzling Fijian brand of sevens rugby.

Go Fiji, go!
