The Damodar family of Damodar Group of Companies has clarified that they are not in any way associated with the National Federation Party (NFP) provisional candidate Riddhi Bhavsar.

Damodar Group chief executive Div Damodar, in a press conference, made this comment following the announcement of Ms Bhavsar as a candidate for the party whereby she was announced as Riddhi Damodar.

Div who was married to Riddhi said they had divorced on February 6, 2016 and since then she had been living on her own and runs her own business.

“To avoid misunderstandings, Riddhi has been repeatedly requested to not to use the ‘Damodar’ name but she continues to do so.

“The Damodar Group further confirms that Riddhi is not associated nor is she employed by the Group in any capacity whatsoever.”

He added that the family does not support nor do they have any involvement in her political ambition and aspirations.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Ms Riddhi, she confirmed that they were divorced but had a good relationship with her in laws and has a daughter with Div.
