Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has urged Fijians to come out and lodge complaints about politicians if they feel that laws are being broken.

He made his comments after the Fiji Sun highlighted the case of three Fijians from Vunivutu in Labasa.

The trio have claimed that National Federation Party Member of Parliament Parmod Chand had made comments against the Muslim community, South Indians and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama during a campaign meeting.

Mr Qiliho said: “I urge people to come out and report the matter to Police if they have issues with what some politicians may say during the course of their campaigning. They can also call me up on 9906989 as well.”

When questioned whether Police will look into this matter, he confirmed that Police would investigate any matter brought to their attention.  >
