Brumbies must play here: Speight

Fijian born Australian Wallabies winger Henry Speight is hopeful that the ACT Brumbies could bring one of their Investec Super Rugby match to Fiji.

“That will be a dream come true,” Speight told SUNsports.

The Brumbies have a huge following in the country as they currently have four Fijian players in their squad. They are Speight, Tevita Kuridrani, Isi Naisarani and 19-year-old Rob Valetini.

In the past years, Fijian players who have donned the Brumbies jumpers are Iliesa Tanivula, Jerry Yanuyanutawa and Radike Samo.

Speight highlighted the recent successes of the Chiefs and Crusaders games that were played here for the past two years mean that anything could happen.

He said there could be a possibility of a Brumbies match played in Fiji, provided that there were some plans in place for making it happen.

The last Brumbies activity that happened in Fiji was when we conducted coaching clinics for schools last year.

“Hopefully we can get to a point where we can build on that because we have a lot of Brumbies fans here in Fiji,” he added.
