Fiji Airways Fijian Warriors half back Frank Lomani is optimistic for a positive performance in the 2018 World Rugby Pacific Challenge which starts on Friday at the ANZ Stadium.

Lomani 21, will be one of the key players in the young team having been played in the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians team and the Australia National Rugby championship last year.

The Savusavu native strongly believes Samoa A who is laced with overseas based players will be a team to beat.

“We are aware that the Samoans will come hard at us, but we will match that with some free flow rugby and releasing our firepower in the outside channels,” Lomani said.

He made these comments during training session at Bidesi Park, yesterday and said the local players are confident ahead of the challenge this weekend.

“The players are psyched up for the match.”

“Players are beginning to step up and we are confident of retaining the Pacific Rugby Cup (PRC) again this year.”

“Players are really putting their hands up in training, each wanting a spot in the squad.”

The Fijian Warriors will play Samoa in their first at 5pm this Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
