Fiji may look at the model which Dubai uses if Fiji Rugby Union’s bid for a Fiji 7s goes through.
Dubai sets up temporary structures where the games are held.
Speaking in Parliament yesterday, Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said an initial estimation of $10million was quoted for works to host the sevens leg here.
This however, he clarified was only a rough estimation.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said World Rugby required an independent institution such as the Fiji Rugby Union to be the front for the bid. While Government will assist, it was still for the Fiji Rugby Union to carry it forward.
He was also questioned about contracts of sevens rugby players. He clarified that it was a matter for the Fiji Rugby Union.
