7s Bid

Joe Smith, Pacific Harbour

The biggest news since Fiji’s Olympic Gold win is the Attorney-General’s statement that Government will finance World Rugby Sevens Series here.

Let me add…hoteliers and investors please provide more rooms, grab prime tourism zoned lands from Momi Bay to Denarau.

Just Imagine

Wise Muavono, Lautoka

The Olympic 7s gold medal is already in the bag.

Imagine if we also win the 2017-2018 Sevens Series, next month’s Commonwealth 7s and Rugby 7s World Cup in July.

Just imagine!

7S Historic Win

Norman Yee, Nadi

Our relatives said their voices had become hoarse from the cheering.

The support was tremendous.

The matches were breathtaking and heart-stopping to watch.

Well done, Jerry and the boys!

Coach Baber’s vision has finally borne fruit! Congratulations!

Now it is Hong Kong where we must win.

Wonder what strategy Mr Baber has for the Commonwealth and World Cup games.

Seems overseas players are unlikely to be released.

Sodelpa Constitution

AmenataveYaconisau, Delainavesi

SODELPA and their clone’s effort to change the constitution as revealed to us in (Fiji Sun 14/3) may be challenging, especially when it deals with religious rights and other rights.

But it seems a majority of the electorate are not interested in this type of politics that has potential to affect recipients.

I personally find it hard to co-operate with this kind of divisive politics which makes ‘war’ on others.

This type of devices only cultivates their own empire and favours conspiratorial politics.

They need to educate, instruct, and activate the electorate in a better way, especially its local branches, and cells that are completely uninformed.

Temple Sacrilege

Tukai Lagonilakeba, Nadi

Newly-appointed Fiji Labour Party Leader and human rights lawyer Aman Ravindra-Singh is being sued by our Prime Minister and Attorney-General for his alleged provocative attack.

This political greenhorn is trying to impress and make it big in our political arena for the wrong reasons. It stems from frustration on his part unless he can provide proof that Mr Bainimarama and Mr Sayed-Khaiyum had orchestrated the break-ins of those Hindu temples around the country for reasons known only to Mr Ravindra-Singh.

It is not only the place of worship or temples and mosques that have been subjected to this despicable act of sacrilege but Christian churches as well including the Dignified Crematorium Multi-denominational Church at Nasinu have not been spared the wrath.

The FijiFirst Party will not go down that way as suggested by him to get the votes. But please do not be afraid, come out in the open.

Most Fijians will certainly again vote for an inclusive selfless leader and the political party that will guarantee a prosperous, peaceful and multiracial co-existence for all who call this country home.

Public hate speech and racist ill-conceived comments have no place in our midst, but very important is that all politicians must maintain good political and public virtues at all times both inside and outside Parliament.

Need for pace

Amrit Singh, Nausori

Did anyone see what the USA players did during the Fiji vs Kenya game in Vancouver Sevens final?

USA players were watching Fiji team play Kenya and on every occassion in that final Fiji scored a try Folau Niua was seen clapping and cheering Fiji.

Beware Fiji 7s team, USA is watching and dubbing our style of rugby since they will want to win the Rugby World Cup on their home soil just as they did in Las Vegas.

These USA team has beaten us twice in the last two tournaments and this is all due to them observing our weakness and that is lacking a strong winger and a fast-paced backline like they have in Baker and Isles.

We need Banuve to play for us in near future maybe he can solve the problem our wingers face?
