RSMS Crowned Suva Champs

Ratu Sukuna Memorial School was crowned the new boys champions of the Suva Zone One Athletics competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, last night.
Zone coordinator Uraia Toronibau applauded RSMS for being competitive during the event.
“Hard work always pays off and it has been a while since RSMS won the zone as it has always been Nasinu Secondary and Dudley High who were always dominating. So it is good to see them winning the boys competition.”
RSMS topped the medal tally with 9 gold, 12 silvers and 7 bronze medals to beat last year’s champion Nasinu Secondary School who managed with 8 gold, 2 silvers and 5 bronze medals.
Ballantine Memorial School retained the girl’s title with 15 gold medals, 12 silvers and 11 bronze medals with NSS in second place with 6 gold, 6 silvers and 6 bronze medals.

Toronibau thanked the schools that travelled to Suva to participate in the competition.
“Schools like Namosi Secondary School should also be recognised for coming to showcase their talents and I only wish they continue to do so in the future.”
Meanwhile, only one record was broken during the competition. It was in the sub junior long jump where Solomoni Saudromodromo of Nasinu Secondary jumped 4.76m, to break the record of 4.62m set by Assemblies of God High School in 2014.
