SODELPA Member of Parliament Niko Nawaikula’s supplementary question to the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum was terminated by the Speaker for Parliament Dr. Jiko Luveni in Parliament yesterday.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum was responding to an oral question raised by SODELPA MP Aseri Radrodro on Fiji Roads Authority traffic issues when Mr Nawaikula surprised MPs with his remarks and statements against Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.

His outburst, which was not related to the oral question, was in regard to the recent resignation of the Marist Brothers High School former principal Ben Salacakau.

Mr Nawaikula’s remarks to Mr Sayed-Khaiyum were, “I wish to say shame on you, to the minister for doing what he did to Marist Brothers High School, for doing what he did demanding to ransom, demanding they remove their principal.

“Maybe you can answer that, why did you do it, you can’t listen to others view.”

Speaker Dr Luveni ruled Mr Nawaikula’s question as a personal attack against Mr Sayed-Khaiyum.
