Eroni Mawi scooped the Pacific Rugby Players, Personal Development Award during the Fiji Rugby Awards Night at the Sheraton Fiji Resort, Denarau on Friday night.

The 22-year-old said this was all made possible through discipline.

“There are little things people don’t see but I need to watch over,” he said.

“It’s personal training during my own time and the types of food and drinks we consume. These little things I should be mindful of because coaches hardly see it but I should be honest with it.”

Mawi hails from Tovu in Totoya, Lau and has been playing rugby since primary school. He attended Lautoka Methodist Primary School before moving to Lelean Memorial School.

He said the award is a lesson for him that there is more to achieve in life
