The Manueli Ratuni­yarawa-captained War­dens Gold retained the 5th Martintar Sevens for the third year in a row last night.

The Sailosi Naiteqe coached-side hammered Sigatoka River Safari Henibua 31-14 in the Cup final at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Tries in the first spell came from Joave Kurudawe, Mosese Baraviilala, and Sauladrau Ra­dinirova with a conversion from Kurudawe.

At halftime Wardens led Henibua 19-0.

Radinirova scored two more tries while a penalty try was awarded to Henibua. Peni Mata­walu scored a try under the post and was successful with his own conversion.

Wardens won $5000 for their ef­fort.

Wardens head coach Naiteqe thanked his players for an out­standing performance.

“It’s a tough competition but to win is sweet,”the former nation­als sevens prop said.

The Best Player of the Tour­nament award was given to Ra­dinirova.
