The Christopher Gamel coached- Vodafone Fijian football team have mapped a strategy to shut out the Philippines national side in their clash on March 22.

The ‘Bula Boys’ departed our shores with seven debutants for the two-match tour. They are Sakaraia Naisua, Kishan Sami, Marika Rawasoi, Apenisa Anare, Savenaca Nakalevu, Filipe Baravilala, and Patrick Neel Joseph.

“This is a renewed team with a lot of young players;” Gamel said.

“Some were not able to make it previously for different issues but have been included as this is our process for the road to the 2026 World Cup.”

Gamel hopes the players can continue to absorb the pressure as they face a tough challenge against the Philippines national team. He said the players would be tested on how they can cope with situation.

Tour squad: Remueru Tekiate (Captain), Laisenia Raura, Kolinio Sivoki, Kavaia Rawaqa, Sakaraia Naisua, Epeli Leiroti, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Kishan Sami, Rusiate Matarerega, Ame Votoniu, Junior Narendra Rao, Marika Rawasoi, Epeli Saukuru, Dave Radrigai, Setareki Waqanitoga Hughes, Epeli Loaniceva, Zibraaz Sahib, Simione Tamanisau (VC), Roy Krishna, Apenisa Anare, Savenaca Nakalevu, Filipe Baravilala, Patrick Neel Joseph.
