Gifts Bring Joy At Children’s Ward

Akbar, Koya and ministerial staff mark event at Colonial War Memorial Hospital
Fifty-eight (58) children at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital Children’s Ward were all smiles when they received gifts from staff members of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
Minister Faiyaz Koya, his staff members and Minister Rosy Akbar visited the Children’s Ward yesterday to mark the celebration of International Day of Happiness with the children.
Ms Akbar said we all need to bring smiles on everyone’s faces, especially the children who were the most vulnerable.
“We would want the children to get well soon so they can be with their families,” she said.
“The goodness resides in our heart for the joy to come out and spread among each other.
“Let’s spread joy and happiness not just here at the hospital, but to everyone around the country.”
Mr Koya said the most vulnerable people on earth were children and it was a perfect day to celebrate Happiness Day.
“I hope the gifts brought the smiles we wanted to see on their faces,” Mr Koya said.
“I thank all the staff who take care of the children at the hospital and also the respective ministries’ staff who thought of the initiative.”
