Third Vehicle Carrier Vessel Offloads Second Hand Cars in Three Months

Liberia vessel Euro Spirit is the second vehicle carrier that has brought in another set of second hand cars to the port of Suva the last ten days.
Japanese vehicle carrier Triton Ace had brought in more than 200 cars on Sunday, March 11 while Euro Spirit offloaded another set of more than 200 second hand cars at the Kings Wharf yesterday.
According to a close source this is the third time such a car carrier vessel has offloaded second hand cars this year in Suva.
Euro Spirit is 188 meters in length and beam of 32 meter with a gross tonnage of 46,346 while Triton Ace is 199 metres in length, beam of 32 metres and gross tonnage of 60,876. Like last week when he was contacted for a comment local agent, Carpenters Shipping general manager Hoshnever Trombaywalla said he could not make any comment regarding the distribution and sale of the second hand cards because it was against the company policy.
“I cannot reveal any information as I have to get request from the principals or the owners of the cargo,” Mr Trombaywalla said.
“All information is confidential,” he said yesterday.
“Confirmed information can be released next week.”
The vessel is expected to leave for Papua New Guinea, today.
