Beqa Yanuca Secondary School athletes returned home after winning four gold medals at the Suva Zone Two meet at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

The gold medallists were Kalesi Liku (800m senior girls), Serupepeli Dakai (800m intermediate boys), Amelia Grace  (800m junior girls) and Karalaini Qoro (400  senior girls).

Qoro believes their spiritual preparation boosted their performance.

“We were not only preparing physically or mentally but spiritually as well,” Qoro said.

“We trained three times a day and it was tough but reaped the benefits in the end returning home with four gold medals.

“We want to thank God for the blessing. We definitely look forward to competing with the best at the Coca-Cola Games next month.”
