Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna is expected to play a vital role in the one-off international and should be ably assisted by experienced players like Captain Remueru Takiata and Simione Tamanisau.

Vodafone Fijian national football head coach Christophe Gamel said the players are focused on working on tactical moves.

“The players are trying to adapt to the intense humid weather and we had to cut the training session short,” Gamel said.

“The players are not used to the artificial turf but we have to adapt.

“It was also important to quickly adapt to the environment here.

“We have two training sessions where will focus on tactics.

“On Thursday we will just focus on ways to assist in helping the players relax and enoy themselves before game time.

“I hope the players adapt well here as they not used to travelling for long hours.”

The Fijians are ranked 168th in the FIFA world rankings while Philippines are ranked 122nd.

“Philippines play good football. They are very technical and a faster.  We have analysed their games and will do our best to block them in the first 20 minutes,”Gamel said.
