Young boys of  Yaqeta Village, Yasawa are looking forward to take part in the 42nd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s rugby tomorrow and Saturday.

Yaqeta Turtles team manager Sakiusa Lewaseni said this would be the first time that the villagers will be playing as a team in the annual event at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

“We have already played at the Marist 7s but the team comprised players from other villagers,” Lewaseni said.

He said the villagers are assisting in the preparation and welfare of the team.

“Preparation is good and the team is camping in homes of village members who reside in Lautoka,” he said

He said they will try their best in performing well in every game.

“We will take one game at a time and play every game as our final game.  We will try to return home with something to mark our participation at the 42nd event.

The Yaqeta Turtles are in Pool 6 with Captain Cook Mosi Steelers, Navatuvula Rugby Club-Sawani Naitasiri and Veivanua Team Army Engineers.
