Nadi Blazers women rugby team coach Trevor Cleary sums up his shopping spree as, “Short and Sweet.”

He says, “For me, shopping is all about planning, preparing and executing.”

“Once I understand the shortage at home or things I need, I make a list of “needs” and “wants”, that’s followed by planning a day and time to go shopping not just anywhere.”

“It has to be a place I trust, that has what I need and provide a quick and easy service.

The 30-year-old Savusavu native from Vanua Levu is sales rep for Heli Tours Fiji based along the Denarau road.

“I do my shopping fortnightly; I enjoy shopping on my own. With at least $100 and at most $150,” he said.

“Beside toiletries and other stuff shopping for food is the most important and can be the most expensive if not planned well. This all comes down to your eating habits and how well your budget can accommodate your list.

“For me eating healthy is first priority (life style). Have health goals and plan your meals. This would make shopping for food so much easier and cost efficient.

Mr Cleary loves to shop at the MaxVal-U supermarket and also opts for the New World IGA Supermarket in Votualevu which is easily accessible from his home in Namaka.

“It opens early and closes late which gives me a chance to do shopping before or after work and most importantly easy on the pocket,” he added.

Mr Cleary moved to Nadi five years ago and found to be the place for him to enjoy his shopping ever since.

A rugby league referee, and a basic skill trainer (development) and coach of the Blazers team since it was established in 2013.

Meanwhile, his special recipe for his favourite dish is on the right.
