The Fiji Primary Schools Rugby League Association will host a gala day competition at Ra High School, Rakiraki tomorrow.

The Ra Zone event is the second competition to be hosted by the FPSRLA and it would also be held late in the  Sigatoka, Lautoka/Nadi and Nasinu zones.

Fiji National Rugby League chief executive officer Timoci Naleba said more emphasis required on the development of the sport at primary schools level.

“Over the years we have seen that there had been less emphasis put on the primary schools as we have been mainly concentrating on the secondary schools and club level.

“If we build competition at primary school level, it would ensure easy transition into secondary schools and club level.

“I believe it is really important for FNRL and the FPSRLA to work together and assist students build a career for themselves in future.”
