Plans To Develop Pacific Players

There was an air of confidence among the 30-member World Rugby Pacific Combined players as they now look towards a brighter future.
World Rugby’s High Performance general manager Peter Horne told SUNsports yesterday for the past few days they have enjoyed their time with the players.
“We are not naming the six players,” he said.
Horne indicated that instead they are identifying the players and the clubs that are interested.
“There are lots of processes involved. We will do our review, look at the opportunities and placing the players where they can succeed.”
He reiterated that what they are doing is not about getting a huge financial contract but to develop the players and integrate them into a more professional environment.
Horne said the players had been fantastic and shown a lot of commitment.
“They have seen the opportunity of not only growing as a rugby player but of playing in a professional club and moving forward.”
Meanwhile, the World Rugby Pacific Combine Green proved too strong for World Rugby Pacific White by winning 22-12 in their clash at Albert Park, Suva yesterday.
Impressive for the Fijians were lanky lock Tevita Ratuva, Waisea Urabuta, Jone Manu and enterprising fullback Inia Tawalo.
