The festival brought together students of all different religions.

Nadi Primary School, came in unity and re-enacted the birth of Lord Rama through a drama yesterday.

A total of 500 students, teachers, parents and management joined in celebration of Ram Navami at the school premises yesterday.

Ram Navami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Rama. This festival falls on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu calendar month of chaitra.

Headteacher Mala Singh stressed the significance of Ram Navami to those present.

“This festival brought together students of all different religions joining the celebration,” she said.

Mrs Singh really appreciated the support of the management, students, teachers and parents to make this event a successful one.

“Let Shri Rama be your ideal. Ideals are remembered and adored for the purpose of adopting them in your own life,” she said.

“This is the time to saturate ourselves with the spirit of Lord Rama. One should become divine in order to be able to worship God.

“Happy Ram Navami to everyone and may Lord Rama bless you with success, happiness and peace on this auspicious occasion.”

The students, teachers and staff were provided delicious food by the school management.

Meanwhile, the school will be closed because the Ministry of Education authorised the closure of all Hindu schools on Monday, March 26, for Ram Navami celebrations. Edited by Percy Kean
