Former national 7s captain Emosi Vucago is pleading for support for Fiji Airways Fijian 7s coach Gareth Baber and the players for the Commonwealth Games next month and the Rugby Sevens World Cup in July.

Vucago played for defending Fiji Bitter Marist 7s champions Tabadamu yesterday.

Vucago praised Baber for the achievement so far in the 2017/18 World Sevens Series and believes Fiji have a strong squad.

“We have a good chance of winning gold at the Commonwealth Games and Melrose Cup in San Francisco,” Vucago said.

“The boys need our support as they have been doing well on the World Series.

“Gareth is doing his best to try and develop the team and they are training harder since they are aiming to get back to the top.

“There are a lot of good players in Fiji and they can do the job for us.

“Gareth has a plan and it’s important for us to support him.”
