Tabadamu Blue won the 42nd Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament for the fourth year in a row at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

And in defeating Police 19-12 in sudden death in the Cup final, the team also won the top tryscorer to Samu Bale and find of the tournament to Suliano Volivoli.

The side received $11,000 while Police collected $5000.

Police led 12-0 at halftime but Tabadamu scored two tries in the second half for the team to draw 12-12 at fulltime before Tieri Ratini sealed the win at the death.

Team captain Luke Lutunavanua was overwhelmed with the effort and thanked the assistance from close families and friends for the support throughout.

“It was not an easy game for us as we just had two weeks to prepare,” Lutunavanua said.

‘This win would have not been possible without the support of our families and friends,” he said.

In the semifinals, Tabadamu beat Saunaka 19-7 while Police walloped Ratu Filise 31-14.  Ratu Filise won the third place playoff  defeating Saunaka 10-5.
