Accused Awaits Bail Application Ruling

A Lautoka man who was charged with attempted murder and damaging property had his case adjourned to April 9 for a bail ruling.
Mohammed Faiyash appeared yesterday before High Court judge Justice Sunil Sharma.
Faiyash was charged in February 15. It is alleged that Faiyash attempted to murder his wife by crashing his car into a Telecom Fiji Limited (TFL) telephone booth.
He was represented by lawyer Setaita Ravai, while Alvin Singh of the Office of the Directory of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) represented the State.
Mr Singh filed and submitted disclosures to the High Court, receiving no objections from Ms Ravai. However, Ms Ravai filed and submitted a bail application and Justice Sharma gave the prosecution time to file any objection. Faiyash is being remanded at the Natabua Corrections Centre.
