“We have a good team and we hope to return with some prizes.”

He is also anticipating competing at the International Surfing Association (ISA) 2018 ISA World Surfing Games in Tahara, Japan.

The Bavu, Nadroga native missed out the France edition last year because of family commitments.

He said competitors from all around Vanuatu, Australia and New Caledonia will be converging in Pango, as the Vanuatu Surfing Association opened the festival up to competitors from all around the world.

The competition ends on April 2.
