Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou reiterated the importance for Pacific Island countries to be heading to the 2018 Commonwealth Sports Ministers meeting with one voice.

“Let me remind all of us once again that we will be making presentations during the Commonwealth Sports Ministers’ meeting in Gold Coast, Australia and the Pacific shall be represented in unison while delivering the presentation,” he said.

Tuitubou made the statement during the Pacific Sports Minister’s meeting at Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi yesterday.

“Thus it becomes imperative that we share our concerns, best practices and learning experiences that can assist one another to propel sports in our countries.

“We are to show the world that Pacific Island countries are sport loving people and are equally capable of presenting athletes that can compete with the rest of the world.”

Tuitubou said their efforts would be directed at working towards a common goal which correlated with their meeting’s theme ‘Strengthening Sports and Sustainable Development in the Pacific.’ .
