Ratudina Grateful

Beach volleyball reps the first team to test the Coolangatta Beachfront.
Beach volleyball women rep Iliseva Ratudina believes they have what it takes to defeat giants Canada in their first game on Friday at the Coolangatta Beachfront.
The Dakuni, Beqa native felt emotional after having her first experience at the Beachfront during training yesterday knowing the battle will be tough in her debut at the four—yearly event.
“This is my first Commonwealth Games and I want to thank God for bringing me this far. Coming out here at the beachfront, I feel very grateful,” Ratudina said.
“It was also an emotional moment for me now that I’m here at the games venue. I just want to thank everyone back at home for their support.”
The 29-year-old will play alongside Laite Nima.
Team manager Alexxis Edwards said the four beach volleyball athletes know how much the competition means to them.
“These athletes are excited to be here, we were blown away on how amazing the village is,” Edwards said.
“When we came here to see the court these athletes have tears in their eyes as this is a big deal for Fiji now.
“We have a very strict training now gearing up for the games,” she said.
