Good start for Team Fiji bowlers in the first day of competition at Broadbeach Lawn Bowls Club yesterday.
Veteran Litia Tikoisuva started the day with a 21-9 win over Pau Blumsky of Niue but lost out by a point 19-20 to Emma Firyana of Malaysia.
The men’s Triples of Kushal Pillay, Arun Kumar and Semesa Naiseruvati defeated Brunei 14-11.
The men’s Pairs defeated Papua New Guinea after a great comeback 20-15.

Team manager Curtis Mar said it was a good start.
“The men were losing to PNG by seven but they came back and won,” Mar said.
“Good start also for Litia.”
Meanwhile, the women’s Fours played Northern Ireland and the Pairs took on England when this edition went to press last night.
