Lawyer Devanesh Sharma appointed new Sugar Industry Tribunal
Devanesh Sharma, a partner in Suva law firm R Patel and Co, has been appointed as Sugar Industry Tribunal by the appointing authority, the Honourable Chief Justice, for a term of three years.
The appointment is effective from March 28, 2018 and it is expected that Mr Sharma will visit the Lautoka office as soon as next week.
Among the Fijian legal fraternity, Mr Sharma has been regarded as a measured and effective litigator on behalf of his clients over his 25 years of post-admission experience.
He is routinely retained as counsel in the fields of commercial law, securities, criminal and domestic litigation due to his strong record as a courtroom advocate in complex legal matters.
Mr Sharma is a former President of the Fiji Law Society.
Mr Sharma is admitted to both the Fijian and New Zealand Bar and received his LLB degree from Victoria University Wellington.
