The Macuata Rugby Union has put in place a three-year development plan.

This was confirmed to SUNsports by Union president Usaia Turaganivalu. He said the plan was important as they need to lift their game after being demoted from the Skipper Cup competition.

“With this development plan, we will be focusing on the secondary school students who’ll be able to play for their clubs as soon as they finish school,” Turaganivalu said.

“We need to start small and work towards our vision. We’ve a plan in place and our mission is to win back our spot in the Skipper Cup competition by 2021.”

He said they are taking on the challenge in playing in the Vodafone Vanua Championship.

“We’re prepared and ready to play our game in Suva on April 14. Preparations are going well and players who represented Macuata last year, will once again be playing for us,” Turaganivalu added.
