A team of 85 health officials have been separated into 12-hour shift at the Vunisea Hospital.

At around 1pm strong winds have started to pick up on the island of Kadavu.

Heavy rain was also experienced with accompanying rough seas.

The main evacuation centre is Vunisea Secondary school with other centres in the respective villages.

As of 6am today a directive had been given to health officials to be on standby for emergencies.

TC Keni is expected to pass Kadavu between 3pm and 9pm tonight.
