The Shop N Save athletics competition is a great platform for athletes to build-up for the Coca-Cola Games that gets underway next week at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

This was the view of former Olympian and Athletes Fiji’s technical advisor Albert Miller during last night’s competition.

Miller said he was impressed with the performance of various schools that came out to take part in the competition.

“This competition is basically for the students as far as I can see probably it is the last opportunity that they have to gauge their fitness,” he said.

“Or whatever they have right now before they finalise everything for the Coca-Cola Games. This is the best opportunity for them to see whatever they are doing is working or not. If there are problems in their plans than they can work on it now before Thursday.

“This competition is a build-up to these athletes, the schools are pretty lucky Athletics Fiji is organising weekly competition specifically for them.”

Miller said schools that took part last night were Queen Victoria School, Ballantine Memorial School, Adi Cakobau School and Sacred Heart College.
