Since launching in 2010, Fiji Water’s business in China has soared ten folds.

This was revealed by newly-appointed Fiji Water president Elizabeth Stephenson at the company’s function at Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva yesterday.

The owner of Fiji Water Stewart Resnick was also at the event and thanked the company staff for making Fiji Water a success.

Last year, the famous bottled water was featured at Shanghai Fashion Week, China’s premier fasion event.

In 2017, Ms Stephenson said US$30 million (FJ$60.0m) was spent on their marketing campaign.

Ms Stephenson said 440 million people drink a bottle of Fiji Water every year.

“Fiji Water is sold in over 80 countries world-wide and has been seen on television, magazines, at world-renowned events, on social media and digital, in-store programmes,” Ms Stephenson.

“The biggest popularity boost for the company was a 15-second advertisement which ran during the Super Bowl.

“US$2.5 million (FJ$5.08m) was spent on the advertisement and it reached over 110 million viewers.

“The brand was also marketed in big awards shows such as the Golden Globes, New York Fashion Week, The Grammy and Emmy Awards.

“President Donald Trump inspired an outsized reaction last year with a simple action: taking a sip of Fiji Water during a speech.”
