Lequa: Win Worth The Sweat

Imakulata Lequa won the first gold medal for Holy Cross College after jumping a distance of 4.92 metres yesterday.
Despite the financial difficulties they had faced in trying to participate at the Coke Games, the Taveuni-based school brought in 20 athletes.
Lequa said the school conducted fundraising drives to fund their trip to Viti Levu
“We sell curry chicken and other fundraising events to collect money so we could participate at this year’s Fiji Finals,” she said.
“I feel so happy winning this gold medal. I just want to thank the Lord for the blessing.
“I dedicate this win to my coach, families and friends.
“I would also like to acknowledge my parents for their support.
“The preparation I underwent to win this gold is worth all the sweat especially waking up early, having a strict diet and a training programme to follow.”
