The extra cruise liner to arrive at the Savusavu wharf this year is good sign.

Trip N Tour ground handling agent Edward Bower yesterday confirmed that there is going to be another three cruise liners arriving in Savusavu before the year ends.

“We’ve had Diamond Princess first at the beginning of this year and then Sun Princess twice,” Mr Bower said.

“The next two trips will be made between November and December,” he said.

‘We normally get to have five trips in a year and this year we will have six.

“Unlike previous years this year there will be a big gap.

“The last cruise ship that arrived was last week Friday and now the next one will come in November.

“Local people and business houses all get to have a fair share benefit when a cruise ship arrives at the Hidden Paradise town.

“Everyone gets a slice, from the juice seller to the grass skirt weaver.”

Meanwhile Mr Bower is optimistic that there could be more coming to Savusavu.

“While we anticipate three more cruise vessels we are hopeful of more next year,” he said.

“Even if it goes up to seven at least there is an increase.”
