Injured Fijiana Worry Tanivula

Iliesa Tanivula said they need to work harder if they are to be consistent performers on the Women Sevens Series
The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s coach said they need to step up again after finishing sixth at the Kitakyushu Sevens in Japan over the weekend.
The next stop of the women series will be in Langford, Canada on May 12-13.
Tanivula revealed they had to do it the hard way in Japan after three players were injured.
Hopefully they will recover in time otherwise they will pull players from the extended squad.
“We have improved a lot in our fitness and defence,” he said.
“We lost two players on the first day and that put pressure on other players.
“To lose a player we need other players on the bench to come up strong in every game, we need the whole 12 to perform.
“On the first day we lost Lavenia Tinai and Vasiti Solikoviti. And on the second day we lost captain Ana Maria Roqica.”
With a month away from the World Cup, he said they need to get the job done.
“I guess for the first time, we top our pool and we look forward to more tournaments and we have yet to beat Australia.
“Considering the short turnaround now, we’ve only two weeks before we fly out again.
“We will await medical clearance on our injured players.
“I hope they recover in time otherwise we will get players from our extended squad.”
The team will resume camp next week.
