The first batch of replacement soldiers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) bound for Sinai will leave today.

This was confirmed by the RFMF director peacekeeping and adviser to the Commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Pacolo Luveni.

He said this follows the return yesterday of the first group of soldiers who had completed their tour of duty with the Multinational Force and Observers.

It is part of the regular rotation of troops in the Fijian Battalion serving in the Sinai.

He said he would farewell the first replac ement batch at Black Rock camp in Nadi today before they flew to Sinai.

Lieutenant-Colonel Luveni said Major Mesake Draunitoko would be the acting contingent commander in Sinai and would leave with the last batch at the end of the month. Edited by Epineri Vula
