Break-Ins A concern For Businesses

Exasperated Nausori business people yesterday expressed their concerns and disappointment on the number of break-ins happening in the Nausori Market.

This comes after four shops at the market were broken-into.

This is not the first break-in and the business people are calling for action against the suspects who commit this crime.

Businessman Ajesh Sami said it was physically and mentally draining for him, his family and staff to put up with the nonsense.

“We fear for our safety and our lives and our businesses. We work hard to grow the business and someone comes along to steal the fruits of our labour,” Mr Sami said.

Mr Sami said this was the second break-in in four months, while other vendors were robbed for the first time.

He said they were yet to receive information on the first break-in and it was unfortunate that this happened to them again. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the break-in at four shops located inside the market whereby cash, recharge cards and cigarettes were stolen.

She said investigations were continuing.
