The Fiji Football Association plans to introduce franchise league in 2020, says Mohammed Yusuf

The Fiji FA chief executive officer made the comment after the association received $8000 worth of referees gear from the Catholic Businessmen Network based in Sydney yesterday.

Yusuf confirmed they are in talks with the Australian High Commission in regards to the franchise concept.

“We are having talks with the Australian High Commission and the Football Federation of Australia to go into the next level of football which is franchise league,” Yusuf said.

“I will be writing to them to hopefully send an expert to set up a franchise league in 2020.”

Yusuf added the donation was a timely one and will benefit the upcoming referees in the country.

The Australia’s High commissioner to Fiji John Feakes said he would contact FFA to help kick start the franchise.
