Alleged murder case goes to High Court

The case of a woman who is alleged to have caused the death of her four-year-old daughter in Nausori has been referred to the High Court in Suva.

Rozleen Razia Khan, 35, appeared before Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne in the Nausori Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one Count of murder.

The Court heard that the incident is alleged to have taken place on May 6, 2018.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Amelia Rokotuivuna objected to bail for the accused stating that the offence was serious.

Magistrate Somaratne agreed and referred the matter to the High Court on May 23rd.

The accused was remanded.
