Weightlifters Eileen Cikamatana, Apolonia Vaivai and boxer Winston Hill received $20,000 from the Government yesterday.

This was after they won gold and bronze medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia last month.

Gold medallist Cikamatana, who was represented by his mother Makitalena, received $10, 000 while Vaivai and Hill both received $5000 from the Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou.

Makitalena was grateful that her daughter was finally able to receive the monetary reward.

“We are thankful that she was given the $10,000and we are very happy with all she has achieved,” Makitalena said.

Tuitubou applauded the three athletes.

“We hope this small token will inspire you to win more medals for Fiji.
