Review For Tabled Treaties

Two treaties were tabled in Parliament yesterday by the acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum for review.

The Agreement on Port State Measures to Prevent, Deter and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing; and the World Health Organization Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products were referred to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, pursuant to Standing Order 130.

Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni said the committee may table a report to Parliament no later than 30 days from yesterday.
