The Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, Parveen Bala, will be chief guest during the 2018 Vodafone Tebara Carnival at Syria Park in Nausori tonight.

At the event one of the six contestants will be crowned Miss Vodafone Tebara 2018.

This week, we have featured profiles of six contestants vying for the queen’s crown.

Today we profile the two remaining contestants.

First up is Mereani Kotodakau, 19, who acknowledged her mother for all the hard work in raising her up.

MEREANI KOTODAKAU

Age: 19

Originally from: Nacomoto Village, Naceva in Kadavu

Hobbies: Travelling to new places, socialising, love listening to hip-hop music and cramming all the lyrics and dressing up.

Who is your inspiration and why? My mother because she has supported me through difficult times and she is a strong women who can encounter anything.

Additional comment: I would like to thank my family members for being there for me every day and also my two coordinators for being very supportive. I am also thankful to all my friends and wish everyone a very successful week ahead.

Natasha stands up for equality

Among the six contestants vying for the 2018 Tebara Carnival crown is Miss Nausori Town Council.

The USP student is a strong advocate for women’s rights.

Age: 19

Occupation: Student at the University of the South Pacific pursuing a degree in sociology and law.

Originally from: Savusavu, the hidden paradise of Fiji with maternal links to Koronivia, Nausori.

Education: Lelean Memorial School

Hobbies: Socialising, reading and passionate in making of Indian henna known as mahendi.

Favourite Drink: Sprite/Coffee

Favourite Food: Indian Cuisine

Favourite Sports: Netball

Favourite Sports Personality: Waisale Serevi
