Payment of final Dividends
Further to the market announcement of 23 April 2018, the Free Bird Institute Limited board is pleased to announce on Monday, May 21, that it paid all its shareholders a final dividend of 2 cents per share or $40,000 out of the profits of 2017.
The total return to the shareholders for the 2017 year amounts to 3.57 per cent compared to 2.4 per cent for 2016.
Chief financial officer and director Waisale Iowane said:“The Board has made a reasonable assessment to the company’s financial performance alongside its plans for 2018 and resolved that a total return of 3.57 per cent is in line with the Company’s dividend policy and as stipulated in the Offer Document.”
The Board and Management continue to ensure that the growth in its business should also be reflective of the growth in the value and return to its shareholders.
CFO wins Award
The Board would like to congratulate the Mr Iowane for being awarded the Young Accountant of the Year (2017) Award by the Fiji Institute of Accountants
(FIA) at the Shangri La Fijian Resort & Spa over the weekend.
The Chairman and chief executive officer, Hiroshi Taniguchi had nominated Waisale for this award and this nomination was assessed against various criteria’s by the FIA’s awards committee.
Chief Operating officer, Mereseini Baleilevuka said “We are fortunate to be associated with Waisale who showcases a great potential at such a young age in the business.”
Mr Iowane was instrumental with the listing of the Company on the South Pacific Stock Exchange in February last year.
He was responsible for the restructure of the company to ensure the quality of the management team from the board level and through the company was robust.
He also prepared the Offer Document in consultation with the Investment Advisors and regulatory authorities which was lodged with the Reserve Bank of Fiji as part of the preparation for listing.
Mr Iowane also compiled the company’s first annual report for 2016 which won a special award at the SPSE Grand awards in October 2017 for displaying quality in content with an emphasis on complying with the annual report disclosure requirements contained in the SPSE listing rules and also for illustrating clear layout of content with the use pictorials and info graphics that would enable stakeholders to easily capture the information provided.
