It takes sweat, determination and hard work to be successful in life.

This rings true for Swire Shipping Fijian Warriors winger Veramu Dikidikilati who started his rugby career while in primary school.

The 22-year-old, Naitasiri native said the passion for playing rugby is what keeps him going.

Dikidikilati was following the footstep of his uncle and family members who had played rugby.

“I always wanted to be a professional rugby player,”Dikidikilati said.

‘I was following the footsteps of men in our family who were very keen in the sport.

“I started my career right from kaji rugby before I attended Lelean Memorial School and played in Deans Trophy competition for Nasinu Secondary School.

“I represented Namosi Under-20 in 2016 and  later played for Wardens before representing the Namosi senior team.

“I represented the Fiji Under-20 rugby team in 2017

“What actually keeps pushing me to keep doing my best is my family and friends who always supported me.

“I am looking forward to be a Flying Fijian in the near future,” he said.

Dikidikilati played for the Swire Shipping Fijian Warriors against Western Force in the World Series Rugby opener in Perth on May 4, 2018.

“It was a good game although we lost to Western Force, 14-24,” he said.
