The Tropik Pine Lautoka Maroons are confident to maintain their unbeaten run in today’s Vodafone Vanua Championship clash against Yasawa at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

Maroons head coach Osea Umumulovo said yesterday the players would be taking things one step at a time as they move into the fifth round of competition.

“Being in the top of the standing doesn’t give us the right to underestimate the other teams but the boys will have to work towards it,” Umuumulovo said.

“We will try and maintain that standing in the Vanua challenge this weekend.”

He added that their game plan would be one of the key components the players would be focusing on.

“The boys know their own task during the game so we need to keep on focusing and doing what is right to be able to play Yasawa tomorrow,” he added.

“We had some work to do after last week’s game. There were some concerns but we managed to resolve it during training.

“The team is a youthful one but we are trying to recruit players that were in the Lautoka team in the previous years.” The clash kicks-off at 3pm.
