Borisi: I Want To Be Like Simi Tamanisau

Young Jovilisi Borisi is a warrior.
Despite copping a back injury, the 20-year-old took on the responsibility to captain Tavua at the Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
“I had to put all my plans on the line to lead Tavua,” he told SUNsports yesterday.
Borisi said as a captain it was his responsibility to ensure that Tavua has to remain in the Super Premier division.
“I was inspired by veteran goalkeeper and national football captain Simone Tamanisau. He is one person I always look up to and hope that one day I will be like him.”
Borisi said eventhough he could not complete the game against Suva due to the back injury he was proud of his players.
“I’ve always told the players to listen to each other and work together, this is what I’ve learned from Tamanisau. He is one person I have always admired and he has given me a lot of advice. Though I am injured the passion for the sport and to represent my vanua is always there.”
Borisi said he’s not sure on whether he would play against Lautoka today.
