The David Aitcheson- captained Team Sheraton retained the fours title at the 11th Kontiki Finance/ Fiji Gas Sunny West Bowling Carnival at the Nadi Sports and Social Club on Sunday night.

The winning team had the services of national bowling representatives, Rajnesh Prasad, Curtis Mar and Kaushal Pillay as they beat Abdul Kalim’s side 20-13 after 15 ends in the final.

Mar told SUNsports that it had been very competitive in all rounds.

“We had good games, the conditions were fantastic and the green were running fast,” he said.

“It was tough when competing against overseas bowlers but we had an interesting team. It was an awesome fours event and we now hope for the best when it comes to the pairs.”

Team Sheraton collected $3000 while Kalim’s team of Sanjit Sen, Dinesh Balgovind, and Graeme Simpson pocketed $2000.

In the semifinals, Team Sheraton beat Semesa Naiseruvati’s team of Sai Tokalau, Eserima Taubale and Litia Tikoisuva 11-8 while Abdul Kalim’s side edged out Munesh Kumar’s team 14-13.

Carnival committee executive Sitiveni Tikoisuva said, there are are going to be a lot of interesting games as they head towards the final day.

He thanked all the sponsors for making the event happen.

The pair’s event starts today at 8.30am.
