The Fiji Football Association is soon going to take legal action against those who made allegations on social media that FIFA had recently stepped in and ordered the suspension of a senior official due to abuse of funds.

When contacted yesterday, Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel denied the allegations and indicated that they are going to take the matter to court.

“FIFA came and did our audit last month and we’ve passed with flying colours,” he pointed out.

Patel said the official who has been claimed to be implicated in the social media has not being suspended and is still very much part of Fiji FA.

It was alleged that this senior official had been abusing Fiji FA’s credit card since 2012.  It was also claimed that the funds were provided by FIFA as a grant for youth development and none of the Fiji FA senior executives took any action of what was happening.

“What’s being said on social media is not true,” Patel said.

“It’s done by people who don’t like Fiji FA and this is similar to those who’ve been making false claims against government as well,” Patel added.
