Northland, Serua Lead Vanua Battle

Northland and Serua are leading the Central/Eastern and Western pools respectively in the Vodafone Vanua Championship competition.
After the fifth round, Northland is on 28 points while Serua is on 21 pts and both teams remain undefeated.
In the U20 competition, Ovalau and Yasawa lead the competition with 24 and 21 points respectively.
Tailevu wing sets target
Ilikena Vudogo is happy to playing for Tailevu in the Vodafone Vanua Championship and hopes to become a Flying Fijian in future.
The 20-year-old Kadavu native said the passion for playing rugby is what keeps him going
“I have always wanted to be a professional rugby player in future,” Vudogo said.
“When I left school at Year Eight, I made it my goal to one day wear the Fiji jersey.
“I started training in my own time and joined the Tailevu team.
“When I was named to be part of the Fiji Under-20 squad I was really overwhelmed, knowing that my dream was slowly taking form.
“What kept me going was my family and knowing that what I am doing is for them.
“I pray that one day I will be a Flying Fijian or a Fijian 7s rep,” he said.
Vudogo plays wing for Tailevu.
“Playing for Tailevu is a preparation towards the U20 tournament in June and I am very much looking forward to it,” Vudogo said.
